Aims

To enable students to develop key legal skills in a clinical setting with appropriate supervision and enable them to deliver services to the community.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Develop skills in two or more of the following depending on clinical work undertaken: interviewing, persuasive oral communication, case and matter analysis, legal research and drafting.
2.
Demonstrate an ability to conduct advice work in a clinical setting with appropriate supervision.
3.
Critically reflect on legal services undertaken on a pro-bono basis.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Training on clinical methodologies and processes. Subject specific training, depending on allocation of clinical work at the relevant time. Participation in clinical work with appropriate supervision.
Additional Information:Module designed to provide practice and skills based knowledge. Students who wish to take 6519LAWSL Clinical Legal Education II (Year Long) must have passed 5507LAWSL Clinical Education I and 4505LAWSL Law in Society. Students may not undertake both 6519LAWSL Clinical Education II (Year Long) and 6517LAWSL Dissertation. Students at Level 6 may not undertake both 6519LAWSL Clinical Education II (Year Long) and either of the other two Level 6 clinical modules: 6518LAWSL Clinical Education I and 6511LAWSL Clinical Legal Education II
