Aims
The module aims to develop students' conceptual understanding and applied knowledge of critical issues prevalent in sport coaching.
To encourage students to understand and apply theoretical processes relevant to the development and support of participants, and their coach development across various coaching contexts (e.g., developmental; grassroots; schools; high-performance).
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Exploring underrepresented groups in sport coaching; Female coaches and participation; Ethnicity in sport coaching; Disabled coaches and participation.
Support and development of sport participants; Understanding sport participation; Talent ID; Coach-athlete relations; Transitions in sport.
Supporting coach development and well-being; Micropolitics in sport coaching.
Coach care; Coach burnout; Sport coaching and the law.
