Aims

This module aims to critically evaluate and reflect on the knowledge, skills and behaviours that have been developed throughout the programme of study and the workplace via a project related case study.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Critically analyse and apply built environment principles and techniques to a complex work based project.
2.
Contribute to the presentation of proposals in report format and using visuals.
3.
Reflect upon their learning, performance and or achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development linked to the relevant PSRB requirements.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:This module will facilitate the learning process by enabling students to apply previously gained knowledge and theory in a practical context through the workplace. This will be supported by workshops where students will be able to collectively discuss their experiences and progress on the knowledge skills and behaviours required for their relevant professional body. The development of the work based project will be agreed with the module team and the relevant workplace mentor. Regular meetings will take place with the workplace mentor to review progress and will be discussed at the workshop with the module team. The following areas could be considered within the knowledge based skills such as construction technology, project management, business and commercial management, conflict avoidance and management.

Additional Information:The central theme of the module is the production of a workbased case study reflective structured to capture the competencies associated with their professional routeway. On the Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship programme, the knowledge learning outcomes for this module are K13, K14, K15, the skills learning outcomes are S1, S3, S4, S5, S9, and the Behaviours learning outcomes are B1, B2, B3, B4 and B5. On the Construction Management Degree Apprenticeship programme, the Knowledge learning outcomes are K6, K7, K13, K14, K15, the Skills learning outcomes are S1, S2, S3, S5, S9, S10, S11 and the Behaviours learning outcomes are B1, B2, B3, and B5.
