Aims
This module aims to introduce students to the principles of investment and develop their knowledge and understanding of real estate as an investment vehicle within the market-place and to evaluate its performance against other investment options. It also provides the opportunity to identify and analyse relevant market data and develop skills needed to advise on real estate investment decisions
Learning Outcomes

Evaluate real estate as an investment vehicle in comparison with other investment options.

To identify and analyse real estate investment financing options.

Analyse the key stages of real estate investment appraisal process, interpret appraisal techniques and utilise appropriate software to appraise real estate investment portfolios.

Analyse and evaluate quantitative measures of real estate investment risk and return.

Additional Information:The module explores the role of real estate as an investment vehicle within the wider investment spectrum. Students will develop their knowledge of, and apply, quantitative techniques used in the pricing of financial assets and measuring risk and return.
In this module, the knowledge learning outcomes are K2, K3, K16 and the skills learning outcomes are S1.
