Aims

Students will experience the opportunity to plan and deliver a school or community-based project in a school or community setting. In preparation for the project, students will critically review the leadership, management and enterprise skills required for successful delivery. On completion of the project delivery, students critically review their personal and professional development and evaluate how this has developed their professional identity.

Learning Outcomes

Apply leadership, management and enterprise principles to plan and deliver a physical education project, within a school or community environment.

Critically evaluate an innovative physical education related project within a school or community environment.

Critically reflect on personal and professional practice to demonstrate how this has shaped professional identity.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Project preparation: project rationale, historical and current initiatives, host and focus on young people. Project planning: organisation, leadership and management theories; entrepreneurship; networking. Project delivery: critical review of leadership, management and enterprise; communication and organisation; risk assessments. Project evaluation: monitoring impact for the host; qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection; video reflection; vlogs. Personal development: theoretical and reflective approaches to review personal and professional development; historical development; pedagogical approaches, learning theories. Professional Development: professional identity theory; value of self and others; career transition and audit
