Aims
This module will enable students to reflect on drivers from the contemporary policy context to explore challenges in the management , leadership , development and sustainability of children's community nursing services.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Critically analyse the policy context responsible for shaping contemporary Community Children's Nursing Services.
2.
Evaluate the process for collaborative service development, including engagement with stakeholders
3.
Critically evaluate community service provision for children’ and young people and make recommendations for future developments/improvements as appropriate.
4.
Demonstrate competence in relation to the professional standards of practice for the role

National Framework for Children and Young People’s Continuing Care
Assessment, submission and appeals of CYPCC cases
Clinical governance/risk management within CCN
Commissioning groups/business planning
Care of the ventilated child within the community
Role of the Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner/Community Matron/Palliative Care
Reflect on service user involvement and feedback
Collaboration with key stakeholders and commissioners
Clinical supervision /reflective practice
User involvement in the development of services - feedback and evaluation of established services

Module Overview:
This module will enable students to reflect on drivers from the contemporary policy context to explore challenges in the management , leadership , development and sustainability of children's community nursing services.
This module will enable students to reflect on drivers from the contemporary policy context to explore challenges in the management , leadership , development and sustainability of children's community nursing services.
Additional Information:The focus of the module is on the future development and sustainability of children’s community nursing services. This will enable students to become proficient, effective change agents and equip them to develop community children’s nursing services of the future to meet the diverse needs of children and young people.
The module will examine the key policy drivers responsible for shaping the future of community children’s nursing. Overcoming challenges and thinking outside of the box to identify innovative ways to meet future requirements will be explored. This module will encourage and support students to think at a strategic level about the development and organisation of children’s services. This will involve both operational and management issues as well as working with key stakeholders to implement a vision for children’s community nursing services.
The Practice Evidence Tool must be completed and passed by the end of this module
