Aims
This module aims to enable students to develop, apply and analyse the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to effectively and successfully secure a Criminology related work placement.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Identify and apply the skills, abilities and attitudes necessary to secure work experience or employment
2.
Conduct background research into an organisation and critically situate it in its external and policy context
3.
Critically analyse and evaluate evidence from a range of sources in relation to graduate employability.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Work-based learning; developing learning/work placement objectives; communication and collaboration within a work placement context; the ethical considerations; practical project skills; identifying and reviewing relevant literature.
Module Overview:
This module provides you with the opportunity to secure a work placement relevant to the study of Criminology. The aim is that you will be able to identify, assess and reflect upon how your skills and abilities transfer from your academic studies to the world of work, and how these skills and abilities might be enhanced via agreed work placement objectives. The module aims to lay down a firm foundation for Criminology Work Placement 2.
