Aims
The module aims to develop student's ability to plan, prepare, initiate and reflect upon effective applied sport psychology practice with a client. The module will address topics such as legal requirements, health and safety, reflective practice, safeguarding, working in effective teams and requisite skills for applied sport psychology practice. The module will also contain a field trip through which students can observe and assist with applied practice under supervision.

Reflect upon the relevant ethical, professional and risk assessment requirements for undertaking applied practice with a client group

Outline Syllabus:Placement requirement including legalities, health and safety, insurance and reporting requirements; effective group working; reflective practice, guest lecture on early career applied experiences, field trip, applied skills workshops, pre placement viva session, university placement tutor meetings

Additional Information:This module is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop their theoretical knowledge and applied practice skills required to act professionally, competently and ethically when working as an applied practitioner with client groups. The field-trip component will be funded by the programme (minus personal expenses) for a number of days at an elite sport setting. The module will be evaluated by completion of the relevant assessment tasks. This module contributes towards the development of graduate teamwork/interpersonal skills.
