Aims

This module aims to raise students' awareness of the causes, nature and extent of behaviours which relate to damaging the environment, drawing on perspectives from the green criminology movement as it does so. The module also aims to develop knowledge of responses to these behaviours, and of how these responses could be made more effective.

Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate advanced, theoretically-informed knowledge of the causes, extent and typologies of environmental crime

Show the ability to critically analyse the role of green criminology in advancing the debate about environmental crime

Critically evaluate the effectiveness and fairness of current responses to environmental crime on the national and international level
