Aims
To explore, in-depth, a topic of interest and relevance to contemporary social work policy and practice utilising an empirical or literature based approach. Seminars will deal with emerging issues related to methodology, data analysis and the relationship to professional practice

Outline Syllabus:Searching for literature refresher session / Using EndNote / Developing a literature review.
Writing a systematised literature review / research paper
Seminars: Developing / piloting Questionnaires and interview questions
Learning from others: Researchers / social worker / past students share their research experiences
Being a research informed practitioner
Being pragmatic and getting creative: visual and participatory methods for social work research
Quantitative analysis for social workers
