Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Introduction to Global Health as a concept and area of research The relationship between globalisation and health risks Trade related health risks and the commercial determinants of health The global burden of disease and the health transition Global Health Governance Sustainable Development Goals and Global Health Communicable disease risks including HIV/AIDs, Pandemics Non-Communicable disease risks and responses Migration and health
Additional Information:This module introduces the concept of Global Health and the key health risks shared by nations and populations from a global perspective. The concepts of globalisation is critically to understanding these health risks and the international response through global strategies including the Sustainable Development Goals, The Convention on Tobacco Control and the Childhood Obesity Strategy.
