Aims

The aim of this module is to provide students an overview of the principal dimensions of contemporary and smart facilities management. The module will introduce the history, dynamics, and various aspects of facilities management including information technology systems and space management. On completion of the module the students will have knowledge and skills to achieve optimum results which has been the key to success in meeting the strategic challenges faced by many organisations in their use of built assets.

Explain the history and growth of facilities management as a specialisation within the property and construction sector

Assess and recommend appropriate facilities management solutions of benefit to an organisation
3.
Apply a range of specialist techniques in planning the facilities management function in an organisation
4.
Analyse client requirements, corporate real estate management, maintenance management, procurement and tendering, project financial control, supplier management, environmental management, GIS and health & safety
