Aims
This module continues the development of inter-disciplinary skills enhancement introduced in Artistic Practice I at Level 4. The module presents an optional approach to concentrate on advanced creative development in associated disciplines, skillsets and frameworks in the independent creation and presentation of an original new work.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Apply appropriate practitioner techniques, experimenting with new initiatives in the creation of new work in live/recorded media
2.
Analyse and apply independent research in the development of an additional discipline skillset
3.
Employ project management skills and collaborative initiatives to realise the presentation of original new work, meeting industry demands
4.
Demonstrate and examine appropriate methods of presentation, communication of ideas and an imaginative use of resources in various forms or forums for audience engagement
5.
Analyse the skills required to create new work, assessing the application and integration of interdisciplinary skills, working pressures and areas for development as part of professional practice
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:This module presents you with the opportunity to improve and advance your skillset through mentored concentration on an ‘elective’ additional discipline. Elective disciplines include:
* Writing; stage & screen
* Directing; stage & screen
* Producing & project management
* Musical Theatre skills
You are expected to work independently to research, create and present a product as a result of your supervised tuition. This product can be presented as work-in-progress and may take the form of:
* Script submission
* Play reading
* Short film
* Staged extract
* Event management; screening/performance
* Cabaret performance
You are encouraged to be creative, imaginative and responsive in the presentation of your final product, considering appropriate means, platforms and forums.
Following the presentation of your Artistic Creation your will deliver an Artistic Reflection in the form of an analytical written review, evidencing your understanding of applied techniques, and critical examination of areas for development and improvement.
