Module Content

Outline Syllabus:The module is structured around the actor’s process and production in performance. The module draws together skills, knowledge and experience developed in supporting classes and provides you with the opportunity to put theory into practice. You will engage with texts, works and theatrical forms that have innovated the artistic field and advanced the craft. You will investigate practitioner approaches and the application of technique in live and recorded media, as well as incorporating technical underpinning from continuing screen acting, voice and movement classes. These classes may include investigations into influencing factors in genres and forms, contributing to your engagement in your Innovative Text production. Throughout the module, you will be required to research, keep notes/logbook and reflect upon work undertaken throughout the project, rehearsal process and final performance to a public audience. You are expected to employ appropriate and professional codes of practice and participate in the following: * Contextual research and analysis into character and play * Employment and integration of acting, voice, movement and singing (where appropriate) techniques in rehearsal and performance in order to render a fully realised character, world and process to meet professional expectations * Critical analysis of process, isolating theory and practice in the development of your Independent Methodology, including professional codes of practice You will work with increased autonomy, receiving structured direction and supervision in the creation and execution of a fully realised character in a public production.
