Aims
To provide students with the ability to develop self-awareness and identify skills to
improve their employability in criminal justice and allied areas.
To provide students with an understanding of the relationship between theory, policy
and the experience of practice in various criminal justice agencies.
To enable students to integrate the link between theory, policy and practice.

Additional Information:The Criminal Justice team are clear in their concern regarding the need for students to gain key and transferable skills in addition to those gained through academic study, to compete successfully in the employment market. The module is placed at level 5 so that students will be able, early on in university life, to recognise and reflect upon their own potential, identify the skills, knowledge and experience that is needed to be able to access target career areas, and
encourage a more realistic and considered approach in the jobs taken post graduation.
The interview will include two competency based skills questions from one of the following areas: team work, evidencing resilience, solving a difficult problem, worked to a tight deadline, diversity/equal opportunities and communication. You will also have two additional questions that focus on the sector and are value based. (60 marks allocated to this section).
The interview will last approximately 15-20 mins and you will receive both your feedback and mark at the end of the assessment.
