3. Encourage the student to explore greater use of artistic understanding and expression through performance.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:In Ballet, students will begin to develop greater movement vocabulary. Exercises will develop in complexity to encourage technical precision and to support the students’ technical proficiency in other dance styles.
In Jazz, students will be introduced to a wider range of movement sequences and combinations that are more advanced in complexity. Through musical theatre combinations, students will integrate technical and artistic elements, such as storytelling, with a strong focus towards integration of movement and performance.
New vocabulary will be taught in Tap classes and sequences will increase in complexity. Through longer and more style specific sequences, students will explore a wider range of musical genres, not only from the Musical Theatre cannon but also Commercial musical genres and these will be reflected in the style of Tap dance (Hoofing and Rhythm).
Additional Information:This module equips students with an increased understanding of multiple dance styles as well as artistic individuality and awareness through movement.
