Aims
To provide an overview of the key considerations for the development and commissioning of a Recovery Oriented Integrated System (treatment system).
To provide an overview of the key aspects of prescribed treatment and recovery oriented integrated systems.
To provide an overview of the key evidence based approaches to prescribed treatment and recovery with a focus on NICE recommended pharmacological and psychosocial approaches.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:This module will explore how alcohol and substance misuse Recovery Oriented Integrated Systems (ROIS) have developed to incorporate a range of evidence based approaches to prescribed treatment and psychosocial interventions. Consideration is given to a whole system approach and the commissioning of a ROIS. Students will be introduced to the key NICE guidance psychosocial interventions and prescribed treatment.

Additional Information:The module will raise students’ awareness and understanding of the challenges faced when developing a Recovery Oriented Integrated System including: ‘Needs Assessment’; the use of research and data; engaging with key stakeholders; and, integrating evidence based practice into service delivery.
Students will be provided the opportunity to, and be encouraged to, become critical and reflective thinkers, develop analytical skills and work collaboratively with others.
