Aims
1. Advanced levels of technical singing skills for the contemporary era of musical theatre writing
2. Advanced levels of practical and applied knowledge of healthy practice for singing
3. Advanced singing performance skills and the ability to work expressively and creatively with material from a broad range of styles and genres

Learning Outcomes
1.
Apply their understanding of advanced technical singing skills, demonstrating development in vocal strength and range, style, complexity, diction etc.; 

2.
Apply knowledge of healthy practice for singing in a range of contemporary vocal styles; 

3.
Analyse and apply expressive, evaluated performance skills in the demonstration of advanced acting through song skills;
4.
Apply their versatility through the performance of a range of contrasting songs, exhibiting a range of vocal, stylistic and performance skills across the musical theatre repertoire from the 1960s onwards 

Module Content
Outline Syllabus:In Singing 3 students will continue the development of their singing voice from level 04. It is expected during the module that the work explored will be more complex and demanding so as to consolidate their skills, knowledge and expertise and to broaden their repertoire and experience. As with studies in level 04, students will continue to explore: 
Vocal Health, 
Breathing, 
Range, 
Pitch,
Rhythm,
Resonance, 
Projection, 
Articulation, 
Development of a range of vocal qualities and 
Musicality
. The focus of the singing studies in this module will be on the development of a sustainable and versatile singing voice for professional performance in musical theatre and elsewhere.
One-to-one singing classes
One-to-one singing lessons will focus on the development of individual singing style and technique. Tutors will continually assess students’ voices in order to provide a technical programme that will be tailored specifically to suit individual vocal needs. Students will have the opportunity to explore their vocal potential and create a repertoire of material suitable for professional auditions.
Repertoire/Technique:
Repertoire classes will provide students with the opportunity to prepare songs for further work in individual lessons. Students will be guided in sourcing appropriate repertoire, learning the material from their own personal resources as opposed to the internet etc., preparation of sheet music ready for work in one to one lessons. This will also at times provide the opportunity to receive peer and teacher feedback on individual song presentation work.
Technique classes will be delivered as a whole group and will require singers to work on different technical aspects of contemporary musical theatre singing in in the context of the class.
Acting Through Song
A workshop-style class focusing on the technical skills of acting through song, using a wide range of musical theatre material. This class augments the performance element of the Singing assessment.
Additional Information:The module builds on the singing, voice and performance techniques skills acquired at level 04. Assessment is via two presentations of three contrasting songs each.
