Aims

1. Gain a critical understanding of the printing process;
2. Interrogate industry relevant briefs;
3. Develop creative solutions to briefs within the constraints of industry standard production processes;
4. Align ideas creative solutions to target audiences;
5. Explore the various software applications and production processes employed in print and advertising production; 
6. Study the technical nuances of various software applications in order to deliver successful graphic artefacts.

Learning Outcomes

Answer a brief by researching, analysing and synthesising information enabling you to develop design outputs relevant to a specific target audience

Produce profession quality layouts and mock-ups to communicate your ideas.
3.
Analyse, differentiate and employ appropriate software applications and techniques to deliver your design solution.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
You will follow the design process from developing a concept, exploring ideas, analysing and scoping and identifying a visual solution through the stages of layouts and mock-ups to production.
You will gain a critical understanding of how initial designs impact on production and how production techniques influence initial design thinking.
Working with industry standard software application, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc, you will develop creative visual solutions to specific briefs.
Additional Information:
In this module you will explore the way in which graphics are designed for 2D production processes.
