3. Examine how IR theories and concepts aid understanding of the region in the contemporary era.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
Topics to discuss in the module will typically include:
• Current issues facing the region
• Key state and non-state actors in the region
• Understanding the balance of power in the region and who are the major players
• Historical events defining the region's contemporary situation
• Impact of external actors and non-state actors in the region
Module Overview:
Module will focus on a particular region of the world based on what is of particularinterest in the year of delivery, and contingent on the research expertise of theinstructor.
