Aims

1. Experiment with multiple digital media;
2. Explore apps and how they may be integrated into campaigns;
3. Learn about ways to incentivise and reward responders;
4. Set up data collection methods and learn how to interpret analytics;
5. Gain a critical understanding of the different functionalities and tools used in online and social media production;
6. Develop a critical understanding of Intellectual Property, its creation, management, protection and infringement;
7. Discuss and critique issues of ethics;
8. Learn about the different methods and techniques used in the implementation and production of advertising; and
9. Research, analyse and synthesis information and learn how to manage it in creating successful advertising

Learning Outcomes

Identify and differentiate between social media platforms in relation to audience and advertising goal.

Design and produce audio visual assets using multi-media technologies and software.

Plan and generate a professional strategy for an online and social media advertising campaign.

Appraise and critique online and social media advertisements.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
The module covers various aspects of national and international online and social media platforms and networks available to advertisers and the different types of advertisers, corporate, individuals, government, etc.
You will also gain a critical understanding of the various audiences for online and social media advertising and explore means of targeting such audiences.
Extending to the previous module, students learn the art of advertising, usage of advanced media, techniques, technologies, methods, to successfully produce effective and co-ordinated advertisements.
