Aims
Wild plant resources is a specialised module designed for biotechnology students. This is a new frontier science, belonging to the category of applied botany. The module aims to help students master the characteristics and classification of wild plant resources, the research methods, the principles of rational utilisation and protection of wild plant resources, and develop awareness of some common wild plant resources, which will lay a foundation for the development of local wild plant resources.
Learning Outcomes

Describe the basic concept and principle of wild plant resources science.
2.
Employ the research method of wild plant resources, and have the ability to identify wild plant resources.
3.
Discuss the principles and methods of rational utilisation and protection of wild plant resources, and understand the development and utilisation technology of various wild plant resources.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The module covers research methods of wild plant resources, rational utilisation and protection of wild plant resources, wild edible plant resources, wild medicinal plant resources, wild industrial plant resources, protection and transformation of environmental plant resources.
Additional Information:This module is designed so that students can develop an understanding of the biotechnology developments, principles and application of wild plant resources.
