Aims
To evaluate the apportionment of risk and responsibility are considered under various construction contracts.

Distinguish the terminology and basic principles of the standard forms of construction contract

Appraise and criticise the importance of the construction contract, its strategy and the roles of parties involved.

Compare and contrast the allocation of risk and responsibility inherent in a variety of standard forms of contract in relation to time, payment, quality and design.

Outline Syllabus:Basic principles of construction contracts – parties/personnel, standard forms of construction contracts
Standard Building Contract and the Engineering and Construction Contract.
Risk and responsibility inherent in a variety of standard forms of contract in relation to time, payment, quality and design.
Introduction to International Forms of Contract.
Discharge of Contracts, Measure of damages and Insolvency.
Letters of Intent.
