Aims
This module aims to evaluate student's ability to work collaboratively in a construction team and exercise responsibilities in an ethical manner to address the current construction industry challenges.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Apply appropriate analytical and practical methods to the analysis and solution of
construction problems.
2.
Evaluate the management of construction activities in a way that contributes to
sustainable development.
3.
Analyse and explain a range of processes and techniques involved in applying and
managing all aspects of a construction project.
4.
Use software to support decision making in the built environment and present
ideas to a technical and non-technical audience.
5.
Develop a range of communication skills through presentation of the project and
working collaboratively to set project objectives.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Sustainability including the 3 aspects of the definition, society, economics and the environment considering sustainable development goals and the built environment including processes and technologies.
Professional Ethics and inclusivity developing the competencies of a professional Construction Manager.
Modern Methods of Construction considering the different approaches and technologies being applied in the construction sector.
Additional Information:Provides an advanced knowledge of construction implementation through more complex systems. Students are able to use the associated skills learned to explore and solve the construction industry challenges.
