Aims

To demonstrate awareness of a range of factors affecting a building project and to produce detailed design documentation. To further develop fundamental skills in the preparation and production of architectural drawings for a building refurbishment project.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Develop an outline building refurbishment design through to the production of a coordinated set of architectural drawings including architectural details.
2.
Apply current regulatory requirements to a building refurbishment project.
3.
Present a refurbishment design to a panel of critics.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Detailed design development Methods and techniques for preparing detailed design documentation. Consideration of technical constraints, costs, health and safety, building regulations including fire safety Understanding of performance requirements and selection of sustainable materials Formulation of architectural details from first principles Integration and appreciation of structural system Integration and appreciation of services Preparation and coordination of design documentation Production of working drawings to an appropriate professional standard Correct annotation of details and interrelationships with other drawings General arrangement drawings, schedules, component and detail drawings
Module Overview:
This module will demonstrate awareness of a range of factors affecting a building project and to produce detailed design documentation. The aim of this module is to further develop fundamental skills in the preparation and production of architectural drawings for a building refurbishment project and will enables you to further develop fundamental skills in the preparation and production of architectural drawings for a building project, with a focus on building refurbishment.
