Aims
To introduce students to key themes and debates in modern German history.
To introduce students to key historiographical works and scholarly debates in
modern German history.
To encourage students to critically reflect on the representations of history in public
spaces, monuments, exhibitions and museums.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of key historical themes and scholarly debates in
the field of modern German history.
2.
The ability to engage with and critically assess historiography and sources relating to modern German history.
3.
The ability to critically engage and appraise the ways modern German history is presented in museums, memorial sites and exhibitions.
