Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Appraisal of key methods of inquiry to inform the evidence base Introduction to coaching skills Dealing with difficult people Advanced communication skills Emotional intelligence Legal, ethical and professional nursing Leadership styles Developing critical thinking skills when applying evidence and making decisions Team leadership strategies including prioritisation, delegation and assignment of duties for patient care Involving patients, carers and families in care as co-creators
Module Overview:
This module aims to support your development of evidence-based thinking with regards to decision-making for effective nursing. You will:
  • Apply methods of inquiry to nursing related issues.
  • Be able to examine the link between evidence, leadership, and decision-making in nursing.
  • Be able to review processes for the safe and ethical construction and use of evidence in nursing.
Additional Information:In addition to the contact hours above there are 160 private study hours. 99 hours are guided, this includes online and assessment preparation. Online hours are e-learning. 61 hours are independent study Please note that workshop hours account for simulated theoretical learning, in accordance with NMC standard 3.4
