Aims
To raise awareness of the potential career options available with a law and criminal justice-related degree (both legal and non-legal)
To develop a range of career management skills that will enhance students' ability to effectively plan their future careers in criminal law and its enforcement
To develop the ability to critically reflect upon the issues currently influencing the employment sector that the student plans to work in
To develop a range of personal and academic skills designed to improve student competitiveness in the labour market
Learning Outcomes

Identify and critically reflect upon the personal and academic skills which aid employability in the criminal law and criminal justice employment sectors

Explore the range of employment opportunities available in the criminal law and criminal justice employment sectors
3.
Develop and maintain effective interview and communication skills
4.
Articulate critical understanding of the links between theory, policy and practice in the criminal law and criminal justice employment sectors

Outline Syllabus:Self-awareness and self-efficacy in relation to employability in the legal and criminal justice sectors
Understanding available careers in the legal and criminal justice sectors
Developing communication, presentation and interview skills
Understanding values and skills required in the legal and criminal justice sectors
Networking in relation to employability
Developing CVs and personal statements
Additional Information:This module aims to develop students' employability skills in relation to future careers in the criminal law and criminal justice sectors, giving them the opportunity to apply these skills practically and proactively through module content and assessment
