Module Overview:
To fully prepare the student to deliver prompt, effective advanced clinical care to patients in the pre hospital setting. This exciting module forms the introduction to the advanced clinical skills and knowledge of the paramedic. The module is both medical and trauma-based and concentrates on developing the ability and confidence necessary to respond in the clinical field. The module is linked to practice, through the Practice Assessment Document. The Practice Assessment Documentation must be completed fully and all aspects of the skills log must be signed as competent to be accepted as a pass by sign off mentor and module lead. Therefore the Practice Assessment Document is recorded as either a pass or a fail. The second element to the assessment is the Challenge Test. The Challenge Test examines the students patient assessment skills, decision making and clinical management and is also a pass or a fail.
