Aims
To provide students with the relevant skills to identify, select and assess the effectiveness of a range of health interventions and enforcement options within the key public health area of health protection.
Learning Outcomes

Interpret the relevant legislation, including codes of practice, policies and strategies at National and European level.

Assess the factors which influence the implementation, investigation and enforcement of health protection interventions.

Identify the key principles associated with health protection.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Introduction to the underlying principles of public health hazards and risks including the range of biological, chemical, physical, social and psychological stressors that may act upon the physical, social and human worlds.
The quantification, assessment and management of stressors within areas of public health government policies and statutory instruments for health protection, including an understanding of their impacts on the environment and human health.
