Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The module should provide a framework for the understanding of the historical relationship between design and technology and the performing arts and help to develop critical and analytical skills, extending both range of reference and vocabulary.
It will give the students a general background in the development of the performing arts, enabling the further study of areas of specific interest. It will also deepen their appreciation of how other professionals within the wider arts work, allowing them to discuss ideas and concepts with a deeper understanding and sympathy.
Throughout the module they will be encouraged to develop deep learning through participation in debates and seminar discussion. All lectures will be designed to encourage dialogue and will examine specific directions and practitioners in the live arts, and wider movements in culture..
