Aims

This module provides students with the opportunity to explore and identify key themes and practices in contemporary Applied Theatre and Community Drama (ATCD).

Learning Outcomes

1.
Identify and define specific forms of Applied Theatre and Community Drama.
2.
Utilise appropriate vocabulary and frames of reference when describing professional participatory work.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:In the initial part of the module students will be introduced to a selection of case studies exemplifying a range of Applied Theatre and Community Drama practice and explore methods of categorising them utilising appropriate vocabulary and frames of reference. Students will compile a portfolio of their own case studies drawn from websites, journals, books and attendance of at least one ATCD event as a participant.
