Module Content

Outline Syllabus:1. The students will be introduced to the concept of ‘preparing to work’ through a practical exploration of the ideas such as ease, focus, observation and imagination. This helps promote a creative state from which to build the techniques for transformation as an actor. 2. Students will be introduced to voice techniques for the actor. 3. The students will be introduced to the principles of the Stanislavski system and the ‘Essential Questions’ through improvisations. The aim is to give the students as many tools as possible to help them be ‘present’ and ‘in the moment’ and to unlock their natural instincts, so that they are free, responsive, imaginative and truthful. 4. Students will be asked to explore, analyse and interrogate texts leading towards the process of taking them from the page to a performance. 5. The students will show their work in two assessed presentations.
Additional Information:The module introduces the student to acting techniques for musical theatre. Assessment is via two presentations.
