Aims

To develop understanding of the residential design process informed by regulations, technical requirements and inclusive design principles. To use digital software to produce 2D and 3D architectural drawings

Learning Outcomes

Recognise and apply building regulations for a residential design project
2.
Identify key principles of inclusive design and apply those principles for a residential design project.
3.
Apply CAD techniques to a design brief to produce 2D and 3D architectural drawings and perspectives

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Site Analysis and Appraisal Precedent studies and the appraisal of the design and technology from such studies Project brief and client requirements Residential design practice, regulations and technical requirements Principles of inclusive design with particular reference to residential buildings. Preparation and management of a digital architectural portfolio presenting the project from concept to completion Application of digital software to produce 2D and 3D Architectural drawings

Additional Information:This module develops further understanding of architectural drawing techniques developed in semester one modules.
