Aims
This module aims to develop a conceptual understanding of a broad range of issues in physical education and sport. Students will analyse these issues using philosophical and sociological perspectives.

Outline Syllabus:Introduction to the sociology of physical education and sport.
A sociological investigation of the importance of physical education and sport.
Investigating social issues in physical education and sport (e.g. ethnicity, gender, class, socio-economic status, disability).
Exploring current issues in physical education from a range of sociological perspectives.
Introduction to the concept of physical literacy.
