Module Content
Outline Syllabus:This module is based on the principle of student-centred student choice to ensure that students’ experience is engaging and democratic, and provides opportunities to experience choice, autonomy and freedom in what is studied. While Part 1 will be compulsory, students may choose their preferred topics from the below list of sessions from parts 2 to 5.

It provides an authoritative and theoretically grounded approach to sociology, covering both classic and contemporary research. It provides the context for debate and discussion that enables students to develop their critical awareness skills. It deals clearly with the full complexity of sociological issues, examining questions of theory and method and presenting clear accounts of major studies in sociology. It also applies sociology to important issues of contemporary debate, such as global warming, faith schools, violence in the media, and others.
