Aims
This module aims to outline professional responses to incidents, the skills necessary at an organisational and individual level and to discuss issues taking account of the evidence base.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Define the role of police first responders at crime scenes and other major incidents.
2.
Describe the contingency arrangements and command structures in place in relation to critical and major incidents.
3.
State the significance of the police response at crime scenes and other incidents in relation to evidence-gathering.
4.
Demonstrate evidence of reflection in relation to the professional and ethical actions taken by police at the scene of the incidents.
