Outline Syllabus:Basic concepts in Logistics/Supply Chain. Logistics Strategy and Planning. The Logistics/Supply Chain Product. Logistics/Supply Chain Customer Service. Order Processing and Information Systems. Transport Systems and Transport Decisions. Forecasting Supply Chain Requirements. Inventory Policy Decisions. Purchasing and Supply Scheduling Decisions. The Storage and Handling System. Storage and Handling Decisions. Facility Location. The Network Planning Process. Logistics/Supply Chain Organization. Logistics/Supply Chain Control. Channels of Distribution. 3PL/4PL
International logistics. Contracts of international sale – Incoterms. Import and export documentation: Bill of Exchange, Letter of Credit, Bill of Lading. Foreign exchange, Forward fixing etc. The role of the Shipbroker / Freight Forwarder. Customs control.
