1. To introduce students to basic broadcast news techniques, including use of technology
2. To introduce students to a range of story treatments for broadcast media.
3. To build theory and speed in the application of shorthand.

Outline Syllabus:Introduction to broadcast technical skills and story-telling practices. Theory and practice of shorthand.
Module Overview:
This module follows on from Introduction to Professional Practice which covered basic news writing and shorthand theory. You will learn to adapt your story treatments for broadcast, also becoming familiar with industry-standard equipment and software. You will also build speed of writing in the shorthand classes.
