Aims

1. To scrutinise published writers' narrative strategies for important aspects of form, techniques and devices in prose. 2. To explore the links between critical and creative writing. 3. To introduce students to good workshop practice at undergraduate level. 4. To join in discussion and debate and exercises that reveal engagement with the course.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:During the module students will: 1. Analyse aspects of form, techniques and devices in fiction. 2. Read a wide range of relevant fiction and critical texts. 3. Focus on key aspects of the writing process, generating new material and drafting. 4. Engage in exercises that encourage reading and tackle writerly techniques. 5. Engage in discussion of student's own work
