Outline Syllabus:Professional values and parameters of practice Consent, confidentiality and mental capacity Accountability and responsibilities of the Nursing Associate, to include health screening, health promotion and awareness of the inequalities of health. Professional standards and values Reflective skills and personal development planning Resilience and personal health Person-centred approaches to care All our health- making health checks Inc. physical activity and smoking The role of the Nursing Associate in patient safety /risk assessment, protecting privacy and dignity Infection control Introduction to safe handling of medicines including errors, adverse reactions, yellow card system, PGD
Module Overview:
To introduce learners to the role of the Nursing Associate This module will provide foundation for the generic knowledge, skills and attributes required within a range of healthcare settings.
Additional Information:This module will provide foundation for the generic knowledge, skills and attributes required within a range of healthcare settings. Critical to this, students will be required to develop a greater understanding of the professional values and parameters of the role of the Nursing Associate and be able to demonstrate this through their practice. Students will be expected to study independently using directed materials from the module content.
