Aims

The aim of this module is to provide the student with a pragmatic understanding of the necessary skills and knowledge to gain a potential, advanced education in specialist actor training, appreciating entry level requirements to the creative and cultural sector. This module compliments and enhances audition and interview techniques.

Learning Outcomes

Locate technological/digital resources relevant for self-promotion

Identify and organise a professional preparation plan, explaining their reasoning and utilising independent research skills

Demonstrate independent research in response to current practice and relate to collaborative artistic creation, identifying issues and practical solutions

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:This module will provide you with the skills and knowledge to fulfil personal statements and programme applications for advanced actor training in specialist, advanced training institutions and programmes. It will arm you with a pragmatic understanding of the necessary communication and presentation skills to articulate your ideas, informed by research, of current performance practices and industry knowledge when meeting industry professionals in formal audition or interview scenarios. You will undertake seminars, group and individual tutorials preparing you for both written coursework and a verbal presentation. Skills gained may then be utilised for entry level requirements to the creative and cultural sector.
