Aims

The Musical Theatre Integration module aims to provide students with an introduction to skill integration and the genre of Musical Theatre as a whole. Here students combine the technique they learn in the Dance Fundamentals and Introduction to Acting and Singing modules. Classes cover acting through song, and the discipline of working with both a musical director and choreographer on an ensemble presentation.

Learning Outcomes

Analyse and execute the central acting journey of sung material.
2.
Undertake a personal singing warm-up and regular vocal exercises.
3.
Select and perform an appropriate solo song for audition purposes.
4.
Translate personal acting process into the context of sung, scene and ensemble material.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:In the first half of this module students will learn how to combine Acting with Singing for a well rounded performance for audition purposes. In the second half of this module students will combine their ability to act through song with dancing to perform a sequence of Musical Theatre repertoire.
