Aims

This module aims to equip students with knowledge and practical ability in analogue mixing console architecture and signal flow; microphone type and application; recording techniques for a variety of acoustic instruments; outboard EQ dynamics processing and effects.

Select appropriate technical tools and techniques to produce an effective music recording

Critically appraise the strengths and weaknesses of their own practical work

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Building on DAW work on EQ, balance, dynamic range and audio editing students progress to a multi-track studio environment where this knowledge base is added to with basic microphone techniques, signal flow and mixing desks and strategies for recording a range of acoustic instruments.
