External Quality Benchmarks

All programmes leading to an award of Liverpool John Moores University have been designed and approved in accordance with the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ), where applicable, subject benchmark statements, and for apprenticeships, the relevant apprenticeship standard.

The university is regulated by the Office for Students (OfS), the independent regulator for Higher Education in England, and is included on their Register of English Higher Education Providers. As a registered provider, the university is subject to continuous monitoring by the OfS and is measured against their Ongoing Conditions of Registration.

Programmes which are professionally accredited are reviewed by Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB) and such programmes must meet the competencies/standards of those PSRBs.

The Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) hold responsibility for the inspection of apprenticeship training at all levels ensuring that training is high-quality and meets the needs of employers and apprentices.

As an End Point Assessment Organisation, the university is also subject to the OfS’s oversight of the quality assurance of integrated End Point Assessments.
